Actually, Leo only acted like he punched Matt, over and over and over again, as shooting of ''The Departed" continued. In a tense scene filmed on a South Boston rooftop, DiCaprio also menaced Damon with a gun, but when the action was over, the stars were all smiles on the set. The Martin Scorsese film is slated to finish shooting this week, before returning to New York City for more filming. The production is expected back in Boston for additional shooting in August, but without Damon, who's moving on to film "The Good Shepherd" with Robert DeNiro...

    Along the way, Zwick became so interested in the African adventure, he agreed to direct as well.

    Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Garner and Leonardo DiCaprio have channeled their inner artist for a good cause. The stars donated finger paintings they did for a celebrity art auction called "Hollywood's Helping Hands" fundraiser Thursday night, which raises money and awareness about epilepsy. "Alias" star Greg Grunberg, whose own 8-year-old son Jake suffers from the affliction, originated the idea, hosted the event and told our Jann Carl that the support has been unbelievable.
    Other stars who contributed include Sylvester Stallone, Teri Hatcher, who created a mermaid painting, Donald Trump and Gisele Bundchen -- who painted a pic of her beau Leonardo!
    Funds raised at the event went to benefit the Pediatric Epilepsy Project at UCLA. The non-profit organization (PEP) was founded to raise funds, provide financial support and increase community awareness to help sustain the Division of Pediatric Neurology at UCLA.
    Helping Hands has also turned those star-painted works into greeting cards which you can get here. And Grunberg also enlisted celebs like Alanis Morissette to paint up some 50 Gibson Guitars for the auction as well. Check them out right here!

    The film will be produced by Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, whose Red Wagon will produce with DiCaprio's Appian Way and the Ludlum estate.
    DiCaprio will play Peter Chancellor, who turns in a novel about D.C. power brokers who are blackmailed into altering U.S. policies. When some operatives get hold of the manuscript, they think he has uncovered their actual scheme and they try to hunt the author down...

    The cream of the New York and Hollywood elite came together in lower Manhattan last night in a star-studded event honoring Nelson Mandela.
    Among the luminaries gathered to fete the former South African president at the Tribeca Grill were actors Sean Penn, Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, Richard Gere and Matt Damon, along with one of the evening's hosts, Robert De Niro.
    Co-host and hotel tycoon Jerry Inzerillo thanked Mandela for "spreading your humanity and message of hope throughout the world."
    The frail 87-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who first visited the restaurant during a trip to New York in 1990, hammed it up with heavyweight legend Muhammad Ali, who pretended to box with him.
    Ali also mugged it up with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and CBS head Les Moonves, and even performed a magic trick for "Saturday Night Fever" star Travolta...

    "The Aviator" helmer Martin Scorsese and pic's high-flying star, Leonardo DiCaprio, were the creme de la creme this week in France: Scorsese was made an Officer de la Legion d'Honneur, while DiCaprio was made - if not the king of the world - a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres.
    Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres heaped on the charm, telling Scorsese: "Your oeuvre shows that cinema is an art."
    "French cinema has always inspired my work," Scorsese cooed back.
    Looking on at the annual Paris ceremony were Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein, Gilles Jacob, actor-helmer Guillaume Canet, Kristin Scott Thomas and thesp Emmanuelle Seigner.

    Actor Leonardo DiCaprio said he had been "devastated" by the impact of Asian tsunami disaster, especially the Thai island where he filmed "The Beach".
    DiCaprio, who has made a major donation to the tsunami relief effort, said he had a "unique opportunity" to spend six months at Phi Phi island to shoot "The Beach" in 2000.
    "I was extremely moved by the people in Thailand. I spent a lot of time in Phuket as well, which is completely devastated by the tsunami," the star told ABC television in an interview from Rome where he is promoting his latest movie, "The Aviator"...
