What's Eating Gilbert Grape?

Life is a terrible thing to sleep through

Peter Hedges adapted his novel for this quirky black comedy about a young man in rural Iowa who attempts to hold together his dysfunctional family (including a 500-pound mother who won't leave the house and a mentally-challenged teenage brother) while wooing a young woman who's stranded in town after her trailer breaks down.
